Bouncing Mono wav files (mic signals), suggested output level?

Hi!
maybe beginner question: I would like to bounce separate wave files (unprocessed mic-signals) from an SD3 drum composition in order to mix them like a “real” drum recording. What would you suggest to run the output level on while bouncing? (default is 0 db)…  TNX

With 24 bit audio there’s no need to obsess about specific levels as long as you stay in the box. I’m not knocking gain staging but just keep your levels down so the overload indicator in your daw’s track level metering doesn’t stay constantly lit up.

As Jack stated, don’t worry about your signal level too much. Give yourself enough headroom to ensure your transients are free of distortion. That will leave enough room for processing.
