…hi im trying to export midi for a song that has multiple tempo changes…in the daw(cubase) the song starts with a tempo map but towards the end it changes tempo completely…thing is i used tracker and the whole song plays fine with the tracker tracks playing…where i try to export midi though it starts ok but with the first tempo change midi loses ttempo…im sure im missing something but im just trying to get the tracker midi as it plays without any tempo map so i can import it to cubase…any ideas?
Hi,
if I understand you correctly, you should export a MIDI file from Cubase including the tempo changes, then Import the Tempo changes from that MIDI file either Tracker via the Tempo Map Menu or to the SD3 Song Track, via the Song Track Menu.

hi again….no i think i didnt explain it very well….i want to export the tracker without an tempo changes…because the the tempo track in cubase is not valid…basically the song is not really on a click track…when tracker plays along everything is fine…as i have imported the same wav files…so all i want to do is just export or record into cubase the audio or midi files as they play along…unless there is a way to use track export but without changing tempo according to tempo map….
I have songs like this too and I want SD3 to just ignore anything to do with temp and just put the replacements in the same timeline as the audio file. So if I hit a snare at 1 min 20 seconds that is where it is on a midi file. Can SD3 output the midi in real time so I can record it in Cubase. This would be a better solution
SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors
Well, an export of a MIDI file will have to have some sort of tempo included AFAIK.
Still, I am not sure I fully understand the exact circumstances but if you have MIDI inside SD3, doesn’t it work to Enable MIDI Out?
E.g. if I have MIDI on the SD3 Song Track and create another Track with the Drum Kit Designer in Logic, I can both preview and Record the MIDI from the SD3 Song Track to the new Drum Kit Designer Track, if I have MIDI Out Enabled in SD3.

i understand what you are saying…but what im trying to do is replace a live drumkit with superior drummer while keeping the original live overheads…it was recorded to a click track up to a point and then the band played without…so when i import the tracks into superior tracker they are just audio tracks that play along the project…i do all my replacing etc and when i playback the project with follow host on the tracker it plays along as expected. no all i want is to export the audio files into the daw. which i usually do by exporting the midi from tracker into superior timeline and then exporting audio from there. Now with the song i mentioned when i try to export the midi into superior timeline it just follows the daw click track which means it drifts odd after a few bars..any ideas how i could just export audio from tracker directly or bypassing tempo maps?
OK, then it should work by dragging the MIDI down to the Song Track in the Tracker Export window and then use the SD3 internal Bounce to render that MIDI to audio files, which you import into Cubase.
