Hi, sorry to post this noob request here, however, I couldn’t find an answer after a bit of searching. Basically I bought the starter pack (Superior Drummer 2.0) and have copied the discs from my small work laptop (macbook) onto an external disk and tried to install them on my iMac and they won’t read the libraries- even after mounting the disc with disk utility. I can install the basic software but then when it asks for the discs it can’t read the folder as a disc. Anyone have an easy answer? Thank you kindly in advance!
p.s. the new iMacs don’t have a dvd/cd drive – go figure!
Mike
there is a thing called optical drive sharing, you’ll have to google it as i’m not sure of the ins and outs, but it allows you to use the drive of a networked machine.
Or, you could do what i did to install logic 9 on my Mac Mini, and get a £19.99 USB DVD writer from PC world and use that…..
Hope this helps…
TeeJay
Thanks TeeJay! I’ll try the drive sharing option. I didn’t know that was possible but, hey, you learn something new every day 😉
Cheers, Mike
