Bleed is the audio from an instrument that is captured in microphones that wasn’t intended for capturing that sound. This sound will be different from the sound captured in the close microphones, so blending the bleed with the close mic audio will produce something else than just duplicating the close mic audio. This wouldn’t add anything to the audio, except a louder signal, or possibly a phasing sound – if they aren’t aligned. So adding the sound that is the main sound as bleed wouldn’t produce the same thing as a real recorded bleed.

To add convolution reverbs, or other effects, is tricky because of the reasons I wrote above. But I understand that it would be useful when importing audio, to make it glue together better with the current kit. I’ll take a note of your idea, thanks for the feedback!
