I use EZ Drummer 2 to do my scratch production and then meet my producer in the studio for final engineering and production.
Well, he does not use EZ Drummer 2 and will not be buying it. He uses Addictive Drums. We spent way too much time trying to map/move my completed EZ Drummer 2 track to AD. I gave him one track for All Drums and a separate track for each piece. He preferred the single track. Well, after way too much time remapping by hand, we finally essentially reprogrammed the drum track in AD.
Also, I use Pro Tools 11.1.3 for Windows; He is on a Mac with Cubase.
Any workflow or pre-production tip so I can keep EZD2 and he can keep AD?
Well, we have a product, EZplayer, that can translate MIDI from
our own extended GM mapping to something AD should be
able to play. Not so sure how well it works but I would guess
that it would be quicker to start from that than from scratch.
