New releases and tons of deals – all centered around one of our favorite themes: rock! Power up your songwriting toolbox!
I'm already happy with the sounds from the stock sd3 but I'm thinking of upgrading. I mostly play with a mix of post rock, shoe gaze and heavier parts as well. Music with instrumental sections but vocals as well when I work with my vocalist friend.
I know there is an ezx named post rock, but I’d rather have the functionality of an sdx kit, otherwise I mayaswell have just bought ez drummer. Which I know is still great.
I’ve heard good things about rooms of hansa. But I want versatility to go from the sounds of explosions in the sky type build ups to break my f**king sky type, so I’m not sure wether to go for death and darkness instead.
Any thoughts would be appreciated 😁
Take it from a Death and Darkness owner – get it. It’s more versatile than one would think. And don’t get hung up on the presets that come with it – that will be your stepping stone to all kinds of usage for it.

My opinion:
Death and Darkness is a favorite of mine and the most versatile SDX I own. I am surprised when I try it even on some lighter genres and it fits in nicely. I have ten (10) SDX expansions and D&D is the one I end up using the most.
Cubase Pro, Korg Kronos, M-50, Hammond XK-1c, Toontrack SD3 & EZBass w/lots of expansions, many VSL and Spitfire Vi's, Shreddage 3 everything, and shit-tons of FX plugins.
Thank you that’s what I needed to hear! Glad that it can be so versitile. Hope you’re doing well, appreciate the recommendation!
Sounds like this is the one, also glad cause theres a lot more kit parts on this one as well!
