It’s all in the manual. You need to go to the midi in/E-Drums Settings. From the presets choose the td50 one to start with. This will map a basic setup. You then need to learn all the extra drums (should all be on different note numbers.) the learn function is good but if you are trying to do drum and rim or edge and tip on a cymbal it can get awkward if you keep learning the wrong one. What I did was record in SD3 the hits and wrote down the note numbers and then added them manually. When you get an e-drum map setup then save it. You can get it to load for any/all presets as I do. I worked it out from the manual and did it myself. It isn’t that hard as I had to it from scratch as it is nothing like it was in SD2

SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors

Hi there I have just bought superior drummer 3 .

atm I am unable to get monitoring and proper flow of the sounds from my iMac to my td50 module . The iMac has 16 gig of memory it’s compatible and fast enough to handle the program.

ive put td50 in the  e drum settings , I’ve selecting td50 as the midi output ….I think that’s right

could someone please give me a step by step setup to midi ect and outputs ect on the td50 and how to get the computer talking to the td50 … the td 50 is a basic setup no extra pads .

frim the Sweetwater utube clip I thought it would be as simple as plug in select and play .

theres obviously some settings in the module or the program that I have not got to .

the computer program is working band sound is comming out of the monitor speakers of computer, and when I hit the drums the sound is coming out the computer speakers not the headphones in my kit

sorry if I sound really simple , not used to midi and technology really .but keen to utilise this amazing $600 Australian dollar program I’ve bought .

really keen to get this amazing new software working with my drums , as I’m pretty disappointed with the generic Roland sounds .

    warm regards Sean

    Hi Sean,

you need to select your TD-50 as your Audio Output Device in the Audio/MIDI Settings in SD3 to have audio coming out of the TD-50.

Yes. Roland driver installed, however they do not have one for MacOS Sonoma so I installed the most current driver they had.
