What is the audio buffer set to? What type of CPU (dual core/quad core, etc) are you running?

Hi Scott, im new to this so how can i find out what the audio buffer is set to ? My PC is running an Intel Core 2 CPU (6320@1.86GHz) with 1.86 GHz, 1.99GB of RAM if that helps you ?

You should be able to bring up the audio soundcard control panel and check the buffer size via the Devices menu (Device Setup) in Nuendo. The lower the audio buffer, the greater hit to the CPU.

Personally I use 128 sample buffer when tracking MIDI into Cubase from my MIDI keyboard or Zendrum and then bring it up to 1024 sample buffer after.

If you don’t mind the latency at 768 samples when playing in MIDI, I wouldn’t change it. I would use a higher buffer after MIDI inputting to see if your CPU spikes go away.

Also, what type of ASIO sound card/drivers are you using?

For best performance, I would look into upgrading to a professional ASIO sound card.
