Bandmate is providing some awesome suggestions when I dropped in a bass line.
Unfortunately, it resets the groove tempo to the song tempo both when dragging it into a Cubase track or when having it play along with Cubase from the EZD3 Song Track. Turning off “Follow Host” keeps the tempo when playing it from the EZD3 Song Track, but then it no longer plays along with the song.
For example, the song is 70bpm and the drums mostly play double time (140bpm) but play at 70bpm in one section. The ideal Bandmate groove was at 140bpm, but it reset back to 70bpm when either dragging it into Cubase or dragging it into the EZD Song Track to play along with Cubase.
Any suggestions on how to get the 140bpm Bandmate groove to play along with the recorded song?
DAW: Cubase 9
OS: Windows 10
If you can’t use the tempo from Cubase in the Bandmate tab, I suggest that you drag the Bandmate groove to the song track, right click on the groove and then select Stretch Notes > 2x (Double Tempo).
Another thing you could try would be to set the Bandmate tempo to 70 BPM, then select the Double Time filter from the Filter menu above the Genre column.

Thanks Andreas for the great tip.
I actually had already figured out the Stretch Notes trick while clicking around trying to fix it after posting my question.
The little bummer with that workaround is it requires an extra step to remember and take in your workflow. Hopefully Toontrack can figure out a fix so what you hear is actually what you get without requiring an extra step.
