Hello,
I recently purchased EZDrummer3 to be used with my Pearl MimicPRO edrum kit. I have been able to configure EZD3 with my module and create some drum kits. However, I have not been able to set one of my kits as the default (i.e., autoload when I open EZD3).
Here’s what I tried:
1. Open EZD3
2. Create a new kit assigning instruments etc. then File > Save as > NameIt
3. Select File > Set current to default project > Overwrite existing Default Project
4. Close EZD3 (File > Exit)
5. Open EZD3 – it opens/defaults to some untitled kit – I then have to click File > Open > and select my kit.
Is there a way that EZD3 will autoload a specified kit when first opened?
Did you save a project with your desired kit? I only saw that you saved your kit in your steps

Thanks for your response Jordan. Yes, I believe did save the project as noted.
1. I first created a new kit
2. Saved it with a new name
3. File > Set current to default project > Overwrite
4. Closed EZD3
5. Open EZD3 – however it still defaulted to original kit
To load my kit, I have to then select File > Open > select My Kit
You saved a kit but it doesn’t look like you saved a project. Try saving a project with the kit and load it back in (to make sure the kit is still selected). Do this before executing step 3.

Thanked by: EssKayKayFirst off I must apologize for being so naïve – sorry. I did attempt to read the manual but I did not see where this was addressed.
Maybe what I am doing wrong here is I am not saving my kit as a kit but rather as a project. I did not know there was a difference. The file save has an “ezdp3” extension so I assume this is a project – let’s call it test1.ezdp3.
1. File > Open Project > select “test1.ezdp3”
2. File >Set current to Default Project > Overwrite
3. File > Exit
4. Still no luck. . .
BUT – here’s is the work-around I did. I created a shortcut to my project file and placed the link to it on my desktop. When I click on the link it opens EZD3 to my default kit as desired – so for now I guess I’m set.
Again, thanks for your input – much appreciated,
Steve K.
