I can not get ‘Auto Scroll’ to function in the Grid Editor : [Options}. It is checked (which I think is the default setting) but the grid does not change in sync with the song position. I’ve tried un-checking the option and re-checking it, but that makes no difference.
Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
Currently it is very tiresome to have to manually move the screen display every few bars when editing using the Grid Editor.

Hi,
if you have notes selected, the window stays with the selected notes. De-select them and the Auto Scroll works as expected. I think the idea is that a if you have notes selected, it is because you want to edit them and don’t want the window to scroll past them.

I’m suddenly having this issue as well. Auto scroll stopped working this past weekend. I don’t have any notes selected in the grid editor. Follow host is on. The song track scrolls, but not the grid editor.
Anything else I can check?

In the Grid Editor, click ‘Options’ in the upper right corner and make sure ‘Auto-Scroll’ is Enabled.

Is it possible I inadvertently set something in a sub menu that’s preventing auto scroll from working?

I’ve discovered this behavior is triggered after zooming all the way in as far as possible for precise editing and then zooming out to a more broad overview. That seems to break the auto scroll function. When I first open the project at a more ‘normal’ view, auto scroll works fine. Only after maximum zoom in, do some edit tweaks and zoom back out does it break.
can anyone replicate this behavior? If it’s a bug, I will move this issue to a more appropriate forum.

Would anyone be willing to take 30 seconds to—
1) drop a few grooves from any EZK library into the song track so the auto scroll kicks in
2) zoom all the way into the groove editor and tweak a few notes
3) zoom all the way back out and see if the auto scroll function no longer works
Thank you!

i just tried it. added enough grooves to get to an auto scroll length – works fine. zoomed in on the chord track MIDI, auto scroll works. zoom out, auto scroll works. zoomed in on grid and chord track, made edits in grid, run – auto scroll works on zoomed sections. return to original size in both grid and track, auto scroll works.
i cannot get it to not work.

Thanked by: Billy 86I really appreciate your help. Obviously, something going on on my end. Helps to eliminate the possibility that it was a bug. It was the first time I’d had to zoom all the way in to edit and then zoom back out and experienced non-functional auto scroll. Thanks again.

are you using the mouse wheel or mouse to stretch / shrink the position bar handles? or using the short cut keys? i used the mouse to manual grab the handles to zoom in and out, and if you are using the shortcut keys, there could still be a bug.

I can’t seem to reproduce this either.
Are you using EZK2 standalone or in your DAW?
If you use a DAW, what DAW/version are you using and does it work as it should for you in standalone?

I’m using the mouse wheel mostly. Then tried the handles. After the auto scroll stopped working, no zoom in/out pathway would fix it. If I exit the project and then reopen, auto scroll worked until I started zooming in an back out.

I’m using in Cakewalk. I’ll have to try the stand alone.
