I have an iMac Snow Leopard OSX 10.6.4, Cubase LE4. I got EZDrummer to authorize OK. I bought it from Guitar Center yesterday, I didn’t need to use the license number on the Guitar Center receipt (they said I would) to get it authorized. I have already used Superior Drummer 2 on this computer for several months. Several months ago I installed the EZDrummer DVD that came with it, but later found out that was a waste of time since I didn’t pay for EZDrummer (several months ago). Now, with the EZDrummer I did pay for, it’s authorized, and the program opens, but no sounds are loaded. Whether opening EZDrummer through Cubase LE4 or through the EZDrummer Solo, I get the following message: “EZDrummer cannot find the sound files! Reinstall EZDrummer or move sounds to /Applications/Toontrack/EZDrummer/Sounds. With the EZDrummer manual, it says the sounds themselves should be loaded to: Library/Application Support/EZDrummer/Sounds, and they did. So then I attempted to move the sounds to /Applications/Toontrack/EZDrummer/Sounds by using the EZX Mover Utility. I did load the EZX Mover Utility, but not convinced I did it correctly. Though the SoundMover.pkg is now at Applications/Toontrack, but the sounds aren’t there. During the installation process, the instructions gave me the impression that where I install the EZX Mover Utility, is where the Sounds will go, but that doesn’t seem right & it didn’t happen. When I tried that & open EZDrummer, it then said, “”EZDrummer cannot find the sound files! Reinstall EZDrummer or move sounds to /Applications/Toontrack/EZDrummer/EZDrummer/Sounds (the EZDrummer/EZDrummer is not a typo). Not sure if I should reinstall EZDrummer, not really looking forward to that since it would take over 3 hours. If I did that, do I need to un-install it first? Please tell me the easiest way to get this to work. By the way the EZDrummer MIDI grooves/drum patterns do work for my Superior Drummer 2 if I drag & drop from EZDrummer Grooves into a Superior Drummer track on Cubase LE4.

From what I can see, you didn’t use SoundMover correctly, since the path both shows a nested EZdrummer folder and that the EZHOME would be in your Applications subfolder.
The Default path to point SoundMover to is: ‘Mac HD/Library/Application Support’
You are sure you have all the sounds installed to your HD?
Why are you saying it would take 3 hours?
If you use the web Full Product installer available in your Toontrack account, it should take about 5 minutes.

John,
Thank you for responding! I don’t know if part of my problem was doing this: in my REGISTER NEW PRODUCT section, I did: Download Product: MAC (the red virtual button) before I did the authorization. It downloaded from the internet more than a gigabyte, and it took more than 3 hours. Should I un-install part or all of the new EZDrummer items, and download them again?

John,
My smart wife got it working! I thought an un-install would throw everything EZDrummer in the trash. I was wrong. I’m OK now. The re-install worked. Thank You!!

Scott,
I appreciate your humor. But now I’m confused. The primary reason I bought EZDrummer was to get different drum patterns than what I have already for Superior Drummer 2. I just compared the 2, and all the MIDI drum patterns look/sound the same to me. I’m I missing something or doing something wrong? Or is it that both EZDrummer & Superior Drummer 2 are now sharing the same EZD LIBRARIES and they are the combined total of the 2 drum softwares?

The MIDI is shared and can be accessed/used between the 2 samplers, yes. You will have access of any EZdrummer sounds in S2 but not vice versa. IOW, you won’t have access to Superior Drummer 2 sounds in EZdrummer.
