Hi everyone,
First of all : pardon my english as i am not very familiar with it.
i am having issues when triggering ride cymbals : 70 to 80 % of the time the midi note isn’t placed where the typical Ride transient is.
This even with having cleaned up the OverHeads by getting rid of all what isn’t played at the same time with a ride hit.
Please let me join a few screen captures to explain my point :
Capture 1 : 3 ride hits and the third one has some other drum element in it. The two first hits are ride alone.
Capture 2 : zoomed on the 2nd ride hit (please note the “two typical ride impacts” on the wave form)
Capture 3 : 3rd ride hit zoomed (we can still see the typical “two impacts” )
My question would be : is there a way to make superior drummer understand the typical waveform of a ride hit to get better midi triggering ?
PS 1- : Looking at a wave from when there is a snare (not ghost note) + ride hit, then it is mostly impossible to “see” where the ride impact is. In that case i hardly imagine other solution but to place the trigger where the snare transient is…
PS 3 – : Screen captures 1 bis / 2 bis / 3 bis are the same but i selected the typical ride transient
