After reading/viewing several things across the net, I’m become confused on what EXACTLY is an Audio Interface—when it comes to triggering the EZDrummer software. I first thought it’s simply a device that takes the MIDI information from one device (in my case an electronic kit brain/module and connects it to my PC hosting my EZD3. I thought that most modules could do this but I’ve run across some media that suggest another piece be added—the “audio interface” for best success. I’m still thinking that really all I have to have is my drum module to the PC. After all, it works to the point where I see/hear the hits in the software. (My first attempt was using my old Roland TD6V but for some reason I kept getting a terrible latency and no adjustments were fixing it. I switched to my new Donner D500 module, and the latency is much better, but possibly still a slight bit of an issue, with the rate all way down to 64.
So, does my module constitute a “audio interface”, or do I need something else?
thanks again
Modrob
If you can’t get rid of the latency after changing your Buffer setting in EZD3, or in your DAW if that’s what you’re using. You should get an audio interface.
Some drum modules can act as an interface, some can’t. do check it’s manual or maybe someone here has experience with your exact unit.
My audio interface video for Toontrack software is here.
It wouldn’t hurt to share your computer specs for further opinions on your specific situation.

Shootie:
Let’s see…I have an HP desktop pavilion slimline with WIN7 64 bit. AMD Athlon II X4 650 processor. 3.20 ghz, 4 gb RAM. (I have ordered more memory to push it up to the max of 16GB)
yep, it’s still a bit old…🥴

I clicked on your audio interface video link but I keep getting an “oops…” message 🥴
