Are you working in a DAW? In that case, what DAW?

I’ve had that message as well when running the latest version of SD3 in the latest version of Logic Pro X.

Can you still use SD3 while this message appears?

    Hi Henrik,

As I mentioned in my original post, I can still use SD3 whilst message appears, but have never seen this message before.

    Thanks

I am running Cubase 9.5 on a PC (Windows 10, 16 gigs of ram, Intel I7) and I also got the same message. This is NOT good. Thankfully it was on a empty session. By the way I did not use any plug ins or anything yet. I hope you fix this issue soon.Frown

I get no sound. Now I have to close it out, and create a brand new session in order for it to work.

I am having this issue in Windows 10 with the stand alone version of Superior Drummer 3. I recently downloaded the newest version a few days ago and just got around to checking it to make sure everything works. In stand alone I select Settings >Audio Midi Set up > Audio Device and when I change Device Type to Asio I get a message that says ” Cannot open Asio Avid Driver”. However, when I open SD3 in Pro Tools on an instrument track, everything seems to be working as it should, so far. Any solutions to fix this is appreciated.

I am now seeing this also. It happens in standalone only. Cubase is ok. One time it locked up audio on my pc and I had to reboot. If I start cubase first close it then open standalone it works. When I get the message audio does not work. I first saw this a few weeks ago but audio still worked. It is only the asio that doesn’t work. The windows option for the same interface does work. I see a few peopl have experienced this now with different sound cards. Mine is a Yamaha n12 FireWire desk.

Is there an update on this as this is now becoming unreliable.

    Thanks

I get this constantly with the standalone app. Can’t even get to the end of a song without it coming up.

If I click the appearing “Audio Device Settings” button, and click the “Reset Device” button on the dialog, the sound starts working again.

    Windows 10 64bit.

    Device type: ASIO
    ASIO device: Universal Audio Thunderbolt
    Output latency: 14.4 ms
    Buffer latency: 10.7 ms
    Sample Rate: 48000 Hz

Send me a debug version with logging enabled or something so we can get to the bottom of this.

Toontrack should fix this issue and another related one: cannot change the sample rate (i.e. 44.1 K to 48K) in standalone.

All others such as Addictive Drums 2, Stylus RM, etc… work perfectly.

    Toontrack, shake it up! Please!

    • What audio interface are you using?
    • What drivers for the interface are you using?
    • What operative system/version are you using?

I am experiencing the “Audio Engine Inactive” message as well. It is happening in the middle of performances, which is a major drag. I hate falling back on Vdrums when this product sounds so amazing. Halp!

I believe my current settings are:

    • Standalone
    • Have not updated drivers since original install on 12/31/2018
    • Windows 10 64bit
    • ASIO
    • Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (2nd Gen)
    • Output: 2.3ms
    • Buffer Latency. 0.07ms
    • Sample Rate: 88.2Khz

I am having issues with “Audio engine inactive”. I am running IOS Mojave 10.14.3, Daw, Reason 10 and Helix 2.71.

I can’t hear anything from superior drummer 3.

    Is there an update?
