I bought a Korg nano Kontrol and am trying to get Ezpp to learn the play commands. I have the korg selected in the Midi In menu at top, but the midi light doesn’t flicker when I hit a button on the nano.
Does ezpp show ANY midi input, or just input it can use? I have all the drivers installed for the nano, and it does show in the Midi In menu and everywhere else on the system.
What type of CC is the Learn Play button command expecting?

tracks can only be triggered by note messages. velocity knobs can only be triggered by CC.

Oh. Is that on purpose? I figured that out early on, but thought it was a bug! The problem I’m having with that is when I hit a key to start playing, it triggers one of the EZ Drum kits, and that got annoying quickly. Hit play, hear a cymbal. Any chance in the future that can be opened up? My main controller doesn’t have actual keys on it, but all kinds of buttons that would be perfect for this type of thing.
At least I know now not to keep troubleshooting. Thanks.

well, you don’t say which host you are using (Logic Express?) but you should be able to filter messages by channels in most hosts. That would be typically how you’d set it up – although not perfect for every situation, and not a great help if your controller can’t be configured to send different types of messages from specific controls.

Right now I’m just using EZ Player Pro in Solo. Haven’t tried using it in a DAW yet. I like the idea of not having to open and work within a DAW to play with drum tracks.
My Korg nano Kontrol has an editor which can assign a bunch of things to the buttons, but not note data it seems. Thanks for the info.

then if you are using solo you can set its channel to whatever appropriate, and exclude that from all other ‘Drummers’ in your solo project. Check page 12 and 18 of the solo manual for details 😉
