Are the Midi Packs cross compatible?

    I’m not an owner of Metal Machinery but a couple of other SD2 packs (Rock Warehouse / Progressive & Metal Foundry) and all of them work on SD3. You might just not have all the microphone channels available to you. The grooves from these packs can be used in the groove selector without any problem.

    I don’t see why this wouldn’t work for Metal Machinery but perhaps someone who ones this SDX can chime in for 100% certainty 😉

    Ok thanks. Will wait for other replies but I assume you are correct. The only thing that makes me worry is that on the Sweetwater website some midi packs will say for SD2, SD3 and future but the Metal Machinery only says for SD2.

    Yes, all Toontrack MIDI packs, EZX MIDI, or SDX MIDI will work in Superior Drummer 3.
