I’ve been running Superior Drummer 3.2.6 on macOS Monterey on my new Apple Silicon M1 MacBook Pro, and I’m amazed by the performance. As a taste, consider the 2.3x faster SDX load times I recorded when upgrading from a 2015 Intel-based MacBook Pro: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAm1QOQRRYc
I also ran the same tests against the high-end/recent Intel-based Mac mini 3.2GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7 SSD. This mini is generally faster than the latest Intel-based MacBook Pro, so these results should be equal-to or better-than what you’d expect from the latest Intel-based MacBook Pro.
On average…and when loading SDXs, the Apple Silicon M1-based MacBook Pro is 1.5x faster than the latest Intel-based mini (and therefore, the recent Intel-based MacBook Pro). That’s a significant leap for one generation!
