Ambient mics have polarity inverted on George Massenburg kits?

I was wondering why all the OH and amb channels have the polarity inverted. Maybe it’s my ears but I don’t hear a difference with the polarity inverted or not. Besides these are stereo channels, pairs of mics I imagine, so what would reversing the polarity of the whole channel accomplish?

There is a noticeable difference when you flip the polarity. There’s a bit more presence in the kick and snare with the polarity inverted in the ambient channels.

If you solo listen to that channel, you can’t probably hear any difference, but it can make a difference when you listen to that channel together with other channels (sounds can get out of phase).
