Allman Bros in MIDI?

Hey there,

Wondering if there exist any MIDI files that come close to the sound of the Allman Brothers’ drummers. ToonTrack has a “Southern Rock” product that doesn’t do it at all–I’m thinking songs like Dreams, Whipping Post, In Memory of Elizabeth Reed…where Jaimoe and Trucks create these huge continuous waves of cymbal rides and snare washes. Maybe MIDI is not up to the task, but it would be nice to see what’s out there.

Not that I have found. You might try running 2 instances of it on separate tracks. I’m not sure if you can, though.

Thanks! Yeah, I just created my own using a pair of tracks for cymbal rides. That worked pretty well, but still haven’t figured out a way to get fast smooth drum rolls in MIDI
