Hi folks, Hope all are doing well and making great music.
I’m a long time EZDrummer user since V1, and a long time Slate SSD 4/5.5 user. What I’ve noticed with EZ3 is the unnatural choking that happens when say a ride cymbal is hit repeatedly, even at a moderate tempo as a quarter note. Not so with SSD5.5. This is using any choice of drums or room. I’ll contact TT support, but I’m just curious if anyone else as noticed this? It’s much like the old drum machines like the Alessis was. I would hope we’d have a 128 part count…though I definitely do not do the 3 handed drummer thing! Thanks for any responses. RJ
I don’t have that at all. I run EZ3 in Presonus Studio One.

Thanked by: IMAWriterRobJMick, I should have mentioned I’m running Cubase 12.o.4. I didn’t notice this with EZDrummer v2.
Are you using the Grid Editor to so a custom choke instead of a Mute Hit? If you’re using Mute Hit there are not many different choke sounds you can access via Velocity, hence the Grid Editor workflow.
Example is in this video at about 12:50… https://youtu.be/NYqA_kkB90Y?t=771
Hope that helps.

Thanked by: IMAWriterRobJActually, I just drag and drop midi clips into Cubase. It’s really when I program a bar or 2 of what I need. For grins, I’m going to access some 3rd party midi to see if the same issue is showing itself. I’ll click pon the vid!
I see. Consider using your midi inside of EZD3 for choke customization. Or customize the choke in your DAW via CC notes. You can find which CC notes are available for your instruments via the Velocity Drop Down Menu on the Grid Editor Tab.

Thanked by: hfam and IMAWriterRobJAgain, thanks much! I’ll watch a couple more vids to get a better hang of things. Having to get my head out of SSD5 a bit.

Just a quick thanks for the tutorials, brother, very appreciated!
