    Hi,

doesn’t it work to start with e.g. the Strike Pro preset and just tweak the differences? Then save as your own preset.

    John

Thanks for your reply! I tried using the Strike kit, but the results were the same. Even after I cleared all the notes and tried to “teach” EZD3, the kit was still messed up. I sure hope this is just a temporary issue, because I was using my old beat up Simmons 1200 kit with EZD3 and had no problems, but now I am not able to record like I was used to.

    Hi again,

though I can’t find anything about the actual mapping, something I read about the Strata Prime being ready out-of-the-box to be triggering the BFD Player made me think that a version of the BFD preset I started on for another user, perhaps could help?

I modified this further and saved it here for you:
    Strata-Prime-WIP
So, open the E-drums/MIDI In making page in EZD3, click the Preset header, then ‘Manage in Explorer’, un-zip the “Strata Prime WIP” file and put it in the opened User Presets folder. ‘Rescan User Presets’ and it should be under your User Presets. Try it out, hopefully it works if the Strata Prime manual is correct and your module is @factory settings.

    BR,
    John

    Hi John,

Is there a quick fix for us Mac users using the Alesis Strata Prime as well?

I’m using EZ and Superior Drummer.

    Thanks,

    MG

The same drum map John provided should work with EZ Drummer 3 on the Mac. Follow John’s instructions, and you should be up and running with no problem.

As far as Superior Drummer 3 goes, there are BFD Drun Maps available in the MIDI/E drum settings,

John, are there any plans to add Strata Prime to the Manufacturer presets in the upcoming update of the product?

    Hi Alex,

not that I know of. Didn’t it work out using the User Preset I made for you?

Do you feel there is some kind of unexpected behaviour with the setting up of a preset?

    BR,
    John

Hi John, I hate to beat a dead horse, but since I am using the Alesis Strata Core module and not the Prime I have noticed that my mappings are slightly off from the Prime module. For instance the 2nd Tom trigger is the same as the 3rd Tom. I am also having some hi hat issues but that may be on my end. Can I ask how you went about making the Strata Prime WIP file for the fellow user? I’d feel better if there was a dedicated option for this in the EZD3 menu because I don’t have a lot of confidence in doing this, new to this stuff. Also should the mapping work for all of EZD3 presets and transfer over to the other EZX’s I own, ie Rack Toms not being confused as Floor Toms?
