I am struggling to get the Hi-Hat midi notes to record with the Alesis Strata Core, all I get is shaft and edge notes. However, I hear everything as I would want, it’s just that the midi notes do not record in SD3 or in Cubase as I play it. I am sending Note+CC4 from the Alesis Module. It has a variable hi-hat controller, I can see it working in calibration.
Which Hi-Hat notes need to be learned for this to function correctly? As I said I can jam all day and it sounds right, it just doesn’t record into the midi map what I am playing.
Cc4 is not a note. It’s a continuous controller. If you look in Cubase at bottom left in the piano roll you can filter for cc4 (foot) and you should see it. If not then it is being filtered out. Cubase does not filter cc4 by default.
SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors
It works really well. I use it with the three digital pads. The snare is great with sd3 as the side stick, rimshot work great as well as ps. I loaded the preset and then modified for my own needs as I use all trigger inputs. Also different drum maps depending on the pack I’m using.
