I have tried EZDrummer as a stand alone and through Studio One 4 and though both recognize the the DM10 mkii is connected, nothing is being triggered.
I have tried all possible setting combinations in EZD with no positive results.
These are fresh installs of all software on a new PC. USB is working properly. Same MIDI cable as used in the past, and did a factory reset on DM10 module.
Help would be greatly appreciated
Hi,
in the EZdrummer 2 standalone, did you put a check mark in the box right next to your MIDI In Device in Audio/MIDI Settings?
You have verified that you can record MIDI from your DM 10 in Studio One?
If you record MIDI to an instrument track with EZdrummer 2 inserted in Studio One, does it trigger EZdrummer 2?

John

Apparently not, though I would have thought so. Doing this at your suggestion got the drums triggering in the stand alone (but not the DAW)
You have verified that you can record MIDI from your DM 10 in Studio One?
Honestly, I have had nothing but hang ups trying to learn to use Studio One 4, and am not sure of much of anything (extreme frustration, particularly with this drum issue)
If you record MIDI to an instrument track with EZdrummer 2 inserted in Studio One, does it trigger EZdrummer 2?
No, but I imagine that is a settings failure on my part.

Since you can get the standalone to work, but not EZdrummer in Studio One (correct, right?), you should try the things John asked if you could do:

There’s no point on looking into errors in EZdrummer if one isn’t sure that EZdrummer is receiving the correct MIDI notes.

Setting the drumset up as a NEW KEYBOARD DEVICE did the trick. Seems counter intuitive, but that was the response I got and it worked.
I just purchased EZ drummer 3 to use with my ALESIS DM10 MKii pro, but it will not trigger the software. I noticed there is no preset for my edrum model, (just the DM10) but EZ drummer does recognizes it as a midi device. I have the edrum module connected directly to my laptop via USB. Will the program not work with my edrum? Please advise
Hi,
does your system see the module as a MIDI device? Is it not listed in the ‘Active MIDI Inputs’ on the Audio/MIDI Setup page in EZdrummer 3?
The existing ‘DM10’ MIDI map preset should work fine, as a starting point at least and then you can save your own preset, should you need to tweak anything.

John
