Does anyone use an Akai LPD8 to trigger sounds from EZDrummer 1 (not EZDrummer 2). My EZD is old but serves my purposes. I thought I was told once that these weren’t compatible but someone just told be that any USB controller like the Akai LPD8 should be able to trigger my EZD. Thoughts?
Thanks,
Matt
Hi,
this shouldn’t be a problem but you will need to use the Editor to map the different articulations to pads, since you cannot change them in EZdrummer.

I use an lpd8. My version Of EZD is newer. Remapping the lpd8 has been something of a challenge at times. The akai utility has to be employed. Somehow explanatory information regarding the remapping challenges my cognitive ability.
I just bought the akai lpd8 and my ezdrummer 2 does not recognize it. The lpd8 name comes up on the ezdrummer page where “querty keyboard” used to be but no sounds are playing.
I’m reading that I have to work in the lpd8 software which I tried but was not successful because I’m not that well versed with this whole midi concept to begin with. I do love playing the drums with my fingers and those small pads though. Wish this little controller worked because it looks like it would be fun to play and program, if I could get some help with that ???
There should be no reason why the controller doesn’t work. MIDI is agnostic and EZ Drummer 2 doesn’t care what controls it. Perhaps check the Audio/MIDI Settings (if you are using standalone) to see if your LPD8 is both recognized and enabled.
