I have the default mixer settings for the Pearl kit in the George Massenburg core library, so there is 7 stereo output busses in SD3 and I have the matching 7 channels in my DAW (Reaper 6).

Sorry for the late response (it was 1am PST when I replied) so I setup session like yours (although I am Studio One the DAW should be of no consequence)  and routed X-OH Dyn to Outputs 3/4, Outputs 5/6, Outputs 7/8… Outputs 13/14 successfully.

In the SD3 plug-in would you mind going to file > Save as and save the SD3 project. Put it in a zip file and post it here so I can take a look?

    Cheers

Why not change the mic routing away from X-OH1 to the default OH Dyn where all the other cymbals are routed to so that any effects already applied to that channel are used on the newly added instrument as well?    To do that, right click on the newly added instrument, select MORE, then select ROUTE INSTRUMENT MICROPHONES, and finally select whatever microphone you want that instrument to route through; typically OH Dyn for cymbals.

Bryan’s suggestion is absolutely the simplest way to go if you want the new instrument to be processed within a group (OH Dyn for example), right click the instrument > more > route instrument microphones in the drum kit or in the mixer, show bleeds selector and select at the top of the “X-OH Dyn” channel and select route instrument microphones.

That being said, I can’t see why you can’t route your X-OH Dyn to an output channel as well.

I routed them to OH Dyn indeed, before I came back here and read your messages. That works, but I can’t figure out why I wasn’t able to route X-OH anywhere and I haven’t saved the configuration with which I couldn’t do it.

    Anyway, thanks for your help!
