You cannot add a channel. You could bounce the ride out as audio and figure it all out in your daw. Or upgrade to Superior drummer.

The Drum & Mixer Preset dictates how many individual channels you may use. Selecting different presets may yield different results (channel counts).

@Shootie…I am using Superior Drummer. Does this change anything?

    Hi WarBeer,

in SD3, right-click the Ride and go to ‘More > Route Instrument Microphones…’Menu
At the top of the routing window, you will see the ‘Close’ microphone routed to the ‘OH’ mixer channel.Route
Click ‘OH’ and scroll down to ‘Create New Channel’. This will create a new Mixer channel named ‘X-OH’.X-OH
Double-click the channel name to rename it to e.g. ‘Ride’Ride-1
This new channel contains the ‘Close’ signal from the Ride and can be dragged to a position near the ‘OH’, should you want to.

    John

    Hi Warbeer,

I am an e-drummer and have a large modified Yamaha DTX900 kit that is set up with 5 toms and 5 x 3 zone cymbal pads. I map all my SDX kits the same way and have had a lot of success with extra Toms to give a 5 tom set up for all my own kits. Attached is a screen shot of one of my Rooms of Hansa Vocal Booth Kits (as it has the smallest number of actual instruments). I have added all the rest and by altering Tom tuning/EQ/Transients/channel bleeds etc I am getting a very realistic 5 tom sound. I also add and route cymbals and Rides to their own channels to better control the sounds. You can do so much with SD3 if you put in the time. cheers, Andrew

@John and Andrew…thank you for the help!

I had posted a question about “moving/arranging” channels, as I had thought that it was a feature “not yet implemented”. However, it appears that I hadn’t “updated” in a while; because after the update I just did…voila!…you can grab and move now! Awesome! Thanks for listening to your customers Toontrack”;)
