    Hi Rolomoto,

If you drag the clips side by side in the Song Track and open the Grid Editor, you can copy and paste instruments (rows) between the two clips. When you’ve transferred the bits you want into your clip, just remove the other one. You may have to adjust the position for the notes you’ve copied (pasting always puts the first note where the play cursor is).

Hope this helps you get the grooves you want!

    This worked for me:

GROOVE PARTS [ from Section 4.4 of the SD3 Operation Manual ]

“The Groove Parts Button located to the right of the results area allows the user
to access MIDI for the individual drums used in the selected groove.
Groove Parts can be dragged over existing grooves on the timeline to add this “Groove Part MIDI”
to the existing Groove. This would allow you to for example use the Hi-Hat pattern from
one Groove with a kick pattern from another. The possibilities are endless.”

Alternately, I have successfully ‘copied & pasted‘ selected parts from one groove atop another using the options on the right-click context menus.
