I have a question althought I fear I already know the answer.
I have a midi file from a song build from toontrack loops but wrapped with Ezplayer to Addictive Drums that I was using at the time.
I recently bought Metalheads and I want to use the same midi for this program, but it seems that the tracks(loops) are know mapped for addictive drums so the hits are wrong…
Am I missing something here or Ezplayer can only wrap toontrack and standard midi files to other samplers. Can it work in “reverse”?
Thank you!
Hi – sure it can work ‘in reverse’ but you should not expect the result to be exactly your starting groove (as in exact articulations used), well it may be but that will depend on the common denominators between formats, and influenced by the content of the original groove.
Anyway, I’m confused as to what you have done to build the track, but the short answer is that there is ALWAYS a way to convert from one known format to another.

Thanks for the reply.
Well I used EzPlayer to drag and drop DfH grooves as a starting point, whilst having the mapping selected for Addictive Drums. I customized various parts of the loops of course, mainly cymbal hits.
For instance where a had a crash hit I now have a tom hit, the snare hit is a rim shot etc. It’s not that it’s unmanageable but the change from toontack midi to Addictive Drums was flawless, but it probably doesn’t work that well in reverse. Or I am doing something wrong!
Ok so this was another case of RTFM
What I did before is I tried to drag and drop the midi to EZPlayer and play it from there. But if you choose to add a folder path then you get the option to designate the source mapping! All I did was select Addictive and voila! It now plays perfectly!
