I added a couple of instruments and they got mapped to notes already taken by other instruments’ articulations. Does that sound odd, it shouldn’t happen? Or I’ve done it wrong? If so what’s the correct way to add instruments so that doesn’t happen?
Thank you!
Hi,
if you have saved a User Instrument and add its new Instrument, it will be added without MIDI assignment and you will have to set that manually.
If you add an Instrument and Import an audio file, you will be asked what you will import it as (Kick, Snare, etc.) and then one of the substitution/alternate MIDI notes from that type of instrument will be used as Default.
If the note assignment (or rather stolen note(s)) is not what you wanted, you can always ‘Reset to Original’ for an Instrument in the MIDI Mapping Property Box on the Drums page.

John
