Activation

I have 3 Pcs That I currently use for music production 2 Desktops and 1 mobile I don’t usually use my mobile (Laptop) but sometimes when we travel it’s nice to be-able to lay down ideas. Is it possible to have all my EZ instruments loaded on all 3 computers and then just use the manager to activate between  them since I can only use EZ on 2 computers at a time or will that cause problems with my account?

Hi,

this should work, you can’t have more than 2 active seats but Removing one Auth and Activating on another works. Then do the opposite.

Is there a danger of reaching the maximum activation limit? I recently had this problem after switching to a new computer, even if there were free slots in the PM.

Not sure why there would be a problem you have an account with Toon Track and all of your key codes reside there so if they give you 2 seats (two computers) all you have to do is deactivate the old machine and activate the new machine in the manager software which is linked to your account and your key codes reside.

That’s right. But in addition to this there is a counter that tracks your total number of authorization processes. If this counter passes the limit you get an error message while authorizing. No matter if there are free slots for your product. This happened to me reacently, after switching to a new computer. As far as I remember there was a limit of 4 authorizations in total. After that you need to contact the Toontrack customer service, as in the error message adviced. They do reset this counter and you are able to do new authorizations.

What I’d like to know is, if this counter increases only while authorizing a new machine, or if it increases at every (re)authorization of an already known computer. This was not clear in Toontracks answer to my email. They told me they have deleted all unused activtations from my account and I can feel free to do more authorizations.

Thanks Marcus: that’s good information to know I haven’t had any problems with activating my Toon Track products as of yet. I currently own over 30 of their products and I’m real impressed with the quality of the sounds and flexibility that the platform gives me. Hopefully in the future they will increase the seats from 2 to 3. I am kind of wondering what an extra seat would cost.

This is a great idea! There could be an option in the product manager. Customers could choose how many computers they want to use their software on. If you want to use 3 computers instead of 2, simply buy an additional seat. This would then be valid for all your registered Toontrack products.
