So I have just finished downloading my first 40GB library file (phew!) and had my first proper play on SD3 within Logic Pro X, and straight away I have found a huge problem (unless there is a workaround!)
Created a new software instrument track, selected SD3 plugin & created around 3 minutes of grooves to be the potential foundations of a new song. I accidentally clicked something within SD3 and naturally I pressed cmd + z, expecting to undo what just happened within SD3. What happened instead? Deleted the entire software instrument track (as that was my last move as Logic sees it) and lost everything.
Please tell me there’s a way to prevent this from happening?
Also while I’m here, I have another question. Is there a way to make the playhead in the song block area (at the bottom of the SD3 interface) lock to Logic’s playhead? On many occasions I was struggling to navigate to the intended section of the track, finding myself hitting return/space multiple times until the drums played alongside the music within Logic as opposed to SD3 playing the drums on their own?
There is a problem regarding cmd + x, cmd + v, cmd + z and some other system keyboard shortcuts. Logic owns these, and will take over. I know about the problem you describe, hitting cmd + z to undo and the last thing you did in Logic was to insert Superior Drummer 3 – but unfortunately we can’t do anything about this. This occurs with all plugins, even with Logic’s own.
Regarding locking the play head to Logics, this will be fixed in a coming update!

is there an update to this in 2023?
Whenever I use SD3 as plugin within my daw, when I want to delete a note pressing backspace, it deletes the entire track with the plugin on it!
same for the other shortcuts….. please tell me there’s a workaround?

Please go to Settings > Keyboard Shortcuts and make sure that “Enable keyboard shortcuts in DAWs” is checked. Then it should work – if you have clicked inside the SD3 GUI before.
