but most fills do use cymbals… locate, for instance, the very first folder of midi grooves in the metal machine expansion (human 100 bpm), and check the six variations of its fill folder… they all use cymbals:

    1. hi hat
    2. chinese
    3. crash and chinese
    4. ride and crash
    5. chinese and crash
    6. hi hat, crash and chinese

as far as I know, out of a hundred of fill patterns or so (for this midi pack), there must be, at most, a couple of them that don’t use cymbals…

anyway, yes: we’re expected to edit the patterns so they fit the music; or else, write music that fits the patterns… ah, but lazy drummer sure is a catchy name!

So… one would need to own the METAL MACHINE expansion to actually get what you are refereeing to, correct?
With what you’re suggesting, one could purchase all the fill packs and every other expansion pack and…….then they would get some accents . ???

I guess I was talking about the general install of EZ Drummer…. I just wanted to know if I was missing anything.? In a way you’ve answered my question… kind of…

Only if you wanted Metal style drumming one would think.
Most the loops have this sort of choice.I dont go hunting for them it kills momentum for me.
Stops,Starts and some fills especially accents are very personalised ,loops are great as a quick start or the basic beat and
programming your own accents is quite normal.
Thats part of the fun plus if you think about it surely it’s too much for TT to make make 16 or worse 32 variations of every one bar loop they make just for the Accents.

Perhaps take time to get good and fast at rolling your own bro.

There are some fills in the MIDI library that ships with EZdrummer. Not every fill groove but some. Depending on where you want the crash (bar 1, beat 1 for example), its very easy to pop one in using your pencil tool once you’ve dragged and dropped your grooves into your DAW.

As for ride sequences, every Groove pattern group contains the following ride patterns: ‘Ride 8th Middle’ ‘Ride 8th Bell/Middle’, ‘Ride 8th Bell Middle/Ghost’, and ‘Ride 8th Middle Bell/Ghost’.

    Thanks for your replies….

That’s what I thought, a bit of editing is just fine. I was just making sure that I wasn’t missing anything.
