Ableton9 audio drop into bandmate crash

When I drag a guitar riff, recorded from ableton, into bandmate it crashes ez3.

Previous recordings from years ago do not seem to have this issue.  Just brand new files.

 

Note if I exit ableton and open from file manager, there isn’t an issue.

Operating system: Windows 10
