A snare like this one, from Toontrack??

Hi all,

Is there a specific snare, mix preset, SDX pack or whateverrrr, that can create a snare sound like this snare? :

You can just about get any snare sound in SD3. That sounds like an electronic snare to me. So the electronic sounds would be the best place to start. I found a few snare sounds in the Richard Devine – Electronica collection that are a good starting place. You can then go into the Mixer and tweak it by adding EQ, Dynamics and Distortion.

Listening to the track, the snare doesn’t sound any different from your typical 80s type snare: compressed, scooped, and plenty of plate reverb.

You would probably want to start with a Ludwig Supraphonic. Might need to tune it down half a cent.
