I recently purchased EZDrummer 3 to be used with my Pearl MimicPRO electronic drum module. I currently run this in standalone operation installed in an older HP Pavilion laptop (Win10, i5, 12GB RAM, 500GB SSD) with a Focusrite 4i4 audio interface. For the most part I have all working fine. However, I still have a few questions if you please:
- Prior to triggering EZD3 via my drum module I first created an empty kit in my MimicPRO with no instruments. I then linked all drum pads to the corresponding EZD instrument. All is working fine except the hi-hat – I receive no response (does not trigger). In order for EZD to trigger a hi-hat response, I have to set a hi-hat instrument in my Mimic kit (i.e., the only instrument assigned in my modules kit). It then triggers the correct corresponding EZD instrument (not the one I have set in the module)
- Is it possible to increase the volume/velocity of the hi-hat “chick” sound only – not affecting the cymbal strike volumes (closed, open, etc.)?
- Not really a question but — I have not been able to configure EZD3 to automatically load my “default” kit each time I run EZD3. I believe I followed the “autoload” and “default project” setup properly but it still opens some untitled kit. As a work-around, I created my default kit; then simply placed a link to that kit on my desktop – this works fine.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
