First of all, kudos on EZD2. It’s great.
There are two things, though, that I think it could really use:
Hand programming of Tap To Find: I think many of us would find it much easier to put beats into Tap To Find with the typical one-bar drum grid, rather than having to play along by clicking on the kit. There’s just enough lag on my system that putting in any kind of gallop is a nightmare, and I don’t have any MIDI hardware to play on. (This would be optional alongside the existing Tap To Find, obviously)
Including the user MIDI library in search results: I’ve seen this requested on one or two other forums – having EZD analyze our existing MIDI loops and including them when searching for Tap To Find matches and that sort of thing. One response I saw, I think from someone associated with Toontrack, was that it’s an issue of coming up with genre/style/tempo tags or a way for users to do that themselves, but I think the basic feature could be added without needing a tagging system right away. EZD could still analyze the MIDI to find matches, and then display it as “filename, folder name, next folder name” in place of proper tags.
