Hello! Is there a way OR could you please add 64 outputs to Superior Drummer?
The problem is that I primarily use external processing for drum channels, and in order to, basically, route direct, overhead and room mics for each of the drums, I need close to 64 outputs to do that. Currently, it supports only 32 outputs, that’s why I have to use two instances of Superior Drummer, which complicates things a lot. I know that 64 outputs are supported by VST, as even Kontakt Player supports it, and it is just a matter of adding it to the plugin.
Please help, you will simplify life a lot to me and other producers, who prefer to use external processing for their drumtracks.
Thanks!
This would be very useful having 64 outputs, 32 is not enough for me either! please put this in an update!
Reviving the thread again, as I completely agree. The 32 outs (or 16 stereos, though most of them contain mono signals) are way too few for what I usually do in terms of drum routing and processing. 64 outs would be stellar and would solve some issues I have in terms of complexity of use.
Hi,
I suggest posting in the Requests & Feedback section instead, since this is a future development request..

Crikey would you guys normally mic drums with 64 microphones? I know I use about 8 to 10
SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors
Normally not, but since I’m not working in Cubase/Nuendo, the “output as mono” is not enabled, therefore I need to waste a stereo out for the snare top, a stereo out for the snare bottom, etc. When I mic drums in real-life I usually go for 20-24 mics (mostly metal, other genres are less busy and 16 mics work absolutely fine) and I would like to mimic that through SD3.
@John, will do, thank you!
