In 2.0 I never saved as a combined preset. I realize that 3.0 is looking for that. So I saved my main 2.0 preset as a combined preset (checking “all”) and 3.0 still can’t find it.
I created 1 user preset in 3.0 as a test and that one shows up. The 2.0 preset doesn’t show up, even if I hit rescan user presets. It can’t find it. I have used my own custom path for presets in 2.0 for years and went head and copied that combined preset to several different folders to get 3.0 to find it – no dice. What is the path 3.0 used to find 2.0 combined preses?
Hi,
do you have the Library active that you made the User Preset for? E.g. if I make a User Preset with the Indiependent SDX in Superior 2, it will not be visible unless that SDX is loaded.

John

I’ve been using Superior 2 for many years with the Nashville EZX. I just got 3.0 and am trying to make the transition.
You may be on to something, since there’s something quirky going on.
Here’s where my combined preset got stored
E:\Documents\Toontrack\Superior2\PresetsEZX\EZX_Nashville\Combined
Superior 3 is also in that folder tree
E:\Documents\Toontrack\Superior3\PresetsEZX\SL-SUPERIOR_DRUMMER_3\S3Presets
In Toontrack Product Manager strangely Nashville EZX is showing that its not downloaded. Yet it is, since its the main library I use and the basis for the combined preset. I’m reluctant to choose “download” for Nashville EZX, since I don’t want 2 instances.
Possibly this is the problem, even though Superior 2 is finding the Library, Toontrack Product Manager is not. What do you suggest?
I suggest you download again. You can delete the one you already have. At least product manager can install and authorize it. It doesn’t take long. I have just done around 4 ezx packs in about an hour
SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors
Yes,
that’s my suggestion as well. The paths look OK, I just tried opening the Nashville EZX in Superior 2, saved as Combined Preset and it was no problem seeing and opening that Preset in SD3.

In Toontrack Product Manager I chose Install for the Nashville EZX and it install it on my samples SSD HD here
B:\SUPERIOR DRUMS 3\TT111_EZX_Nashville_WIN_153\Contents\EZX_Nashville
I opened superior 2 and unders Settings, changed the Library location for Nashville EZX. and saved a new combined preset and it got stored in the same location as before.
I opened Superior 3 , selected “Library presets” and selected User Presets and still only find the S3 user preset I created. I again hit rescan user presets and have no 2.0 presets that show up.
What can I do to fix this?

You say, “I opened Superior 3 , selected “Library presets” and selected User Presets and still only find the S3 user preset I created.” But, did you load the Nashville EZX library? Library specific presets will only show when the correct library is loaded first.

I didn’t manually load the EZX_Nashville library into S3. When I installed S3 I assumed it would automatically find the S2 libraries that I was already using and enter that info into S3.
So today I just opened S3 and chose Settings / Libraries I see the Nashville is listed there but it says “No installation info available”. I tried to point to the library, which didn’t work.
I then deleted the library from S3 and then chose browse for library path and pointed to the EZX_Nashville folder. It gave an error message: “no sound libraries found in selected directory”. The same library path works fine in S2
John your screenshot looks different from mine, in the sense that there’s no tab for S2 user presets. Above that I have “user presets” which is the S3 user presets. Maybe the tab for S2 user presets is created once S3 finds some 2.0 user presets
EZX_Nashville still plays fine in S2. Something seems very quirky to me, I hope someone can shed some light on how to fix this.
Hi,
sorry for the delay, holidays got in the way.
You shouldn’t point either plugin to the EZX, both Superior 2 and Superior 3 should pick up EZX:s and Toontrack MIDI automatically on your system if the ‘EZHOME’ location is installed correctly.
Please uninstall all the Toontrack plugins (not the SD3 sounds) on your system and the Nashville EZX, then re-install the latest SD3 update. During the installation of the SD3 plugin, you *should* be presented with the option to set the ‘EZHOME’ location. Please point to where you want the ‘EZdrummer’ folder located; this is the holder for all subsequently installed EZX:s and Toontrack MIDI.
If for some reason you can’t set this during the the SD3 plugin re-install, please open SD3 after it’s installed and go to the Libraries page in Settings and scroll down to the ‘Additional Libraries’ entry and Edit the path there.
While on the Libraries page, make sure the paths are set correctly to your S2 Avatar and SD3 core libraries.
Next, please close SD3 and install the Nashville EZX + the sound and MIDI updates for it. Open SD3 and check that the EZX and MIDI are picked up automatically by SD3.
When this is working as expected, please install the latest Superior 2 plugin update again. Now Superior 2 also should pick up the Nashville EZX and its MIDI automatically.
If you now save a Combined User Preset with the Nashville EZX in Superior 2, open SD3 and then select the Nashville EZX in SD3, you should see the ‘SD2 User Presets’ entry, like in my screen shot.

Thanks for posting John. I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling, not exactly like you suggested. But I did run into a very strange quirk. At one point I kept repeatedly installing Nashville EZX using the Product Manager and it installed it fine, but whenever I would close Product Manager the Nashville library would be deleted.
My solution ended up being finding a backup of the library under Program Files (x86) and copying that to my original location I used before installing S3. So now everything works and I’m finding the SD2 user presets. Have you ever heard of a library being repeatedly deleted by Product Manager before?
