Hi Toontrack!

I love your products! I have both a question and a comment:

Question: Is there anything in the works now (or would you consider) creating a metal drum MIDI library of 6/8 samples. For metal, I primarily write and record melodic death metal in the likes of At the Gates, In Flames, Amon Amarth, etc. A ton of that stuff is in 6/8, yet there is no MIDI pack in the metal genre that includes this time signature. I understand that I can program in my own beats (which I do), but I’m a guitarist, not a drummer. I feel a drummer would have much more insight as to what to play, versus my makeshift drum repertoire.

Comment: Have you guys considered creating a Steve Albini drum library at his Electrical Audio studios? His drums sound HUGE and he’s a great engineer. Also, he is known for his legendary drum sound (Pixies, Nirvana, Neurosis, etc.). Just a suggestion 🙂

Hi ToonTrack,

I just wanted to bump this thread to see if I could get an answer, as well as to ask a new question. Are there plans currently, or could there be (PLEASE!) a metal midi library to include a vast amount of 6/8 loops? I have several of the metal midi loop packs but only one of them devotes a small section to 6/8.

Additionally, are there plans (or could there be), to include more 3/4 content in the rock midi loop packs. That is one of the major things keeping me from upgrading to EZDrummer 2. I downloaded the demo and used Tap2Find to find similar beats to what i programmed in in 3/4. The best I got was a 33% match. As stated earlier, much of what I write is in 3/4 and 6/8 but I feel these time signatures are severely under represented in your midi packs.

I LOVE Toontrack products, but the lack of loops in these time signatures is preventing me from downloading more of your midi packs!

Toontrack doesn’t comment on future releases. But, they do take notes of the requests.
