Hi
I have to use two active Authorizations now on new EZx’s ( never Before) on my MacPro
One id for EZD
One id for SD2
Seems the first time i authorise an EZx in solo i get a different Machine id,
so later, then i load that same new authorised Ezx in Sd2 in is not authorised.
Why do we need two active Auths.for one computer Surely this is some problem that can be fixed ?
Usually, something like this is connected to Enabling/Disabling hardware, making the hardware configuration list to shuffle and the Computer ID to change but I have never seen this happen on a Mac.
Could you please post screen shots of this? Your different ID’s and Auth screens?

John

I will endeavor to get these screenshots John thanks, not sure how to get back to those screens.
You guys no doubt can see it in my 2 Auths from your end.
Trust me it is real.
EDIT>
Do i have to Authorise in EZD first as i assume.??
This seems to be the case for both ROCK and METAL ! EZX’s , i Want to use in SD2,
They are working but one machine Never Need two active Auth’s before.
Is it better to request removal of both Active Auths and start again.?
I know the ID generated when using SD2 is different to EZD even on same machine 10 minutes later can you guys verify or replicate this?
Am i the only one wanting to use both EZY and SD2
Is this a new Radical Protection scheme ??
Not on Mavericks yet but 10.8.5 on the Mac and TT seem to clash.
EDIT >this is Metal ! EZX
Hi,
I can assure you you are far from the only one using EZdrummer and Superior 2 on the same computer; I am doing so myself on my computers (which incidentally are on 10.8.5 as well).
No new radical scheme, your report is the only one I’ve seen to this date on Mac.
Please try the following.
Re-install the latest versions of your Toontrack software (not the sounds) and then load the EZX and Authorize it in Superior 2.
We’ll sort out used up Auths once your up and running.

Hey John .
All versions of Solo, Logic and SD2 are current
From my end i un-authorised those two current active for Metal!
I did uninstall Metal ! ( not Rock yet ) and reinstalled .
It seems to work with out needing the Authorizations .
Its not going to the Auth Screen in SD2 or EZD
Is it ok for me to publicly post the screenshot that shows my ID info ?
If not i will delete it but here it is before i tried to fix things myself.
I actually meant using Metal! on SD2 and EZ, but sure it was a frustrated comment.
No, you’re right; even though the Support Section isn’t exactly a public Forum, refrain from posting those here. I’ll get back to you via email should we need those screen shots.
I will delete the first of your Removed Auths but I believe the 2nd is actually the one still active on your computer.
It seems to me that you have accidentally made some kind of copy/paste or typo error on that 1st Auth that strangely enough was accepted by the system.
If you look at that first ID, it’s the same as you have for all your Superior 2 and EZX products that last 2 years or so; except that it has got 8 extra ‘A’s in the middle.
I’ll hand this over to my colleagues, thanks for your help.

John

OK < Thank's John.
To clarify
Latest purchases
Metal ! &
Rock ( two latest EZX’s) have this oddity.
I do remember a typo copy/paste weirdness at the start of the process but did correct it as the Auth Failed.
Then it was accepted in EZD
Seems SD2 won’t accept the Auth done on EZD and forces this to occur or as you explain the copy/paste set off some other scenario.
So…
I will Auth using SD2, correct ?
I am kinda not totally clear what i need to do my end but should be ok.
1 more thing: which plugin version number is reported in the EZD interface and Superior 2 interface respectively?

The reason I ask this is because a hint from the programmer suggests that you had an old version of Superior 2 installed (your logs tell me you didn’t download the newest Superior 2 update until after you tried Authorizing your EZX:s) and Authorized the Metal! and Rock! EZX with the newest version of EZdrummer, before trying to load them in your old version of Superior 2.
Now, there is no new protection scheme but it has been modified since version 1.3.2 of EZdrummer and 2.3.1 of Superior 2:
“authorization should now be more resilient to hardware changes, particularly when removable LAN cards are used”
This resulted in longer Computer ID’s which is no problem if you update both EZdrummer and Superior 2 (which we always encourage users to) but a new version of EZdrummer would generate a longer Computer ID for a new product installed and thus result in an Auth code the old version of Superior 2 wouldn’t understand.
So, since you now have the latest version of both EZdrummer and Superior 2 installed, there will be no more Auth problems for you.

John
