I have built up a “frankenkit” using my new Alesis Crimson 2 and parts of an old kit I had lying around. I know that I can use drum splitters to get more surfaces in the existing module but what I am ultimately after is to be able to have each hit-able surface with its own input so that in Reaper I can build up a track template that includes the kit plus percussion and have all surfaces assigned to a sample in the VST.
I guess I am after something like the Alesis Trigger I/O that allows for expansion while still talking to the main module via MIDI but they don’t make this anymore so after other suggestions. I could just go an get a 2nd hand drum module and run 2 modules at the same time but would rather consider something more graceful.
Kit is only used for recording in my home studio so moving it around lots doesn’t come into it a a consideration.
