Ezdrummer 2 does not let me change ASIO settings!

Hello,

so I am currently using a set of e-drums, connected to a Focusrite 2i4 w/ a MIDI cable that I use to trigger the EZdrummer 2 standalone application.

However, I am experiencing a problem where sometimes the audio on my computer has a “hiccup”, almost as if all soundstopped playing and resumed a little bit later. This can be like a fraction of a second, or more rarely a couple seconds. This problem is preventing me from playing my e-drums with the EZdrummer sounds.

Annoyed with the issue, I have been trying to figure out what is causing it, especially because it seems like sometimes it doesn’t occur, but then if I restart the computer it starts happening again.

I have noticed that, weirdly enough, when I go into the MIDI device settings and open the ASIO control panel and change the settings, it will reset itself back to 44100 Hz and no lower than a buffer size of 64.

If I try to change the system ASIO settings before opening the application and THEN open the application, everything plays at a different pitch. When I go into MIDI device settings it resets the entire system to 44100 Hz 64 buffer.

It just won’t let me change sample rate or lower thhe buffer size.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Also, as far as the sound cut-outs are concerned I have tried making the buffer size larger, but it does not solve the problem.

I am running this whole thing on a desktop with an i7 CPU, 16GB RAM and Windows 7. It is quite powerful so this is even stranger to me.
