Release notes for EZdrummer 2.2.3

EZdrummer 2.2.3 is now available to download using the Product Manager or from the ‘My Products’ area in your Toontrack account. Please note that version 2.2.3 is required for the support of EZdrummer 2 products released from this point forward (Q1 2022).

CHANGES

General

• Improved support for instruments that are sensitive to ‘Note Off’ events. For example, clicking on such an instrument in the main view now plays it for as long as the mouse is pressed, instead of making a very short sound.

E-Drums

• An “Alesis Nitro/Surge” preset has been added and the “Alesis” preset has been renamed to “Alesis Command/Crimson.”
• Improved cymbal choke support in the Medeli preset.

BUG FIXES

General

• On macOS Monterey, Reason was not able to load EZdrummer.
• In Ableton Live, EZdrummer should now be available in the “MIDI To” dropdown for an External Instrument.
• Loading an EZX where some notes present on the song track were not mapped to anything would cause a crash.
• If the EZdrummer 2 Percussion library is missing, a warning about that is now shown at startup.
• If the EZdrummer 2 Percussion library was missing, loading certain EZXs would incorrectly show a dialog that the EZX had to be updated.
• Fixed a crash that could happen at startup if no sound libraries were found.
• When auditioning grooves (for example in Browser or Search), the looping back could sometimes become slightly delayed, for grooves with a ‘Note Off’ exactly at the end.

Search Tab

• Performing MIDI searches (by changing search filters) no longer aborts auditioning of grooves in the Browser tab or the Song Creator, only aborts auditioning in the search result list.

Standalone

• Starting the metronome by turning off “Only ON when the song track is playing” could cause a loud noise (while playing a groove in the browser, for example).
• The Windows standalone can now use ASIO devices with a buffer size larger than 2048 samples.
