Additional notes: This snare is the famous and legendary Black Beauty “1” used personally on countless recordings by drummer Jeff Porcaro. The name derives from the fact that Jeff always called the Drum Doctors rental service and asked for “the one” great sounding snare, which happened to be this Black Beauty. This snare can be heard on the famous recordings of Toto’s songs “Rosanna” and “Africa” (both of which were recorded by Al Schmitt).
