I have a question on my td27kv2 “fully updated”. I have my td27 plugged usb into my Mac Studio max m4 computer running Sequoia “fully updated” and I’m running Logic Pro “FU” triggering Superior Drummer 3 “FU”, being used as a plugin. I’m trying to dial in the digital 140 snare, and digital hihat . In SD3 the snare isn’t triggering all the snare sounds properly. I tried in sd3 using preset td27 and td50 under Roland tab. But it’s the same either way. When I hit the center, mid point, and snare edge next to the rim , I basically get all the same trigger samples. I forget the exact numbers. And when I hit the rim only. It still triggers a “rimshot” which sounds like a snare hit. So the zones on the actual snare isn’t triggering the same sd3 zones. So I would love it if you could share any and all resources so I can get the snare to trigger the correct sounds. And same with hihat. I went over td27 settings. And gpt and a friend of mine who knows pro audio well. We all seem to think the td27 is set correctly. I know I’m asking a lot. And I would greatly appreciate any accurate information that would solve these issues for me. Thank you so much. If more information is needed lmk. Thank you all again.
Have you loaded the edrum preset for the td27(or td50) that would be the first step. Also make sure the td27 is setup correctly so it doesn’t play a rimshot when the rim is hit hard. When I got my td50x it wasn’t set correctly for the digital snare. I’m not able to get to my kit and can’t remember the setting name but it will be in the manual. Probably the downloadable one and not the basic one that comes with the kit.

I appreciate any and all help thank you. Yes if you read my post. I have tried the preset within sd3 for td27 and td50, and also I have been through the yd27 module with AI’s and a a friend who is pretty dang knowledgeable about all things pro audio. And we are both still stumped. 🤷🏻♂️ Thank you.
Hi,
I got the best results by taking the td-50x template, but also had to dial in the the multizones for snare and hihat. I also recognized that the multizone thing does not work for all hihat instruments. Important is that all parts of the instrument are activated. It’s also very helpful using the midi control panel for incoming midi messages. So you can see whats really coming in from the td-27.
Hope you get what I mean, because my english is kind of rudimental.
Cheers Ilja
I appreciate any and all help. I have a general idea on what you are talking about. I definitely do a rabbit hole deep dive on this whole issue. Thank you for some direction 👍🏼
Pro audio doesn’t mean an expert on an edrum module. I had to change the settings on the module so it worked correctly when it was fresh out of the box new. When you play the snare and listen to the module does the side stick work correctly so when you have your hand on the head you get the side stick sound no matter how hard you hit the rim? If you put your hand on the head and hit the rim hard and you get a rim shot then you need to change a setting on the module. By the way AI talks rubbish at times.

Absolutely 100% agree with pro audio doesn’t necessarily translate to all things audio. I merely said that to let one know we are not newbies. And can usually muscle through most issues. But Roland midi is newer for both of us. So in this realm. I suppose we are newbies. lol. I appreciate any and all advice. Thank you so much. I will definitely try that and run down that rabbit hole as well. Yes I know about AI’s drift and rabbit holes. It can be very frustrating. We have built an extreme 6 tier elite pro audio employee model. Each employee has its own unique responsibility’s for said phase of production. With behavioral policies. It drastically reduces drift and rabbit holes and keeps on point. And that goes both ways. Ai has definitely not arrived yet. But with proper structure. It’s a very power tool for sure. Thanks again. Will check it out.
