Can anybody recommend kits/exp packs with good centering in L/R OH mics? I’m noticing typical OH imaging of kick & snare is way off center. If I hear snare and on one side and kick on the other I want to bash my head into a wall. jk Am I the only one that prefers OH’s spaced on the true kick/snare axis?

Hambone,

no not 🤔 really, but two things. For the non overheads, try flipping all those direct channels to reverse perspective (mixer>Reverse), putting the high hat for instance on the right channel as it would be from an audience perspective. That is usually the perspective of the overheads. This may line things up where the OH doesn’t seem out of place. The other option is to center both OH mics so you have Mono, and then feed that to a channel in your DAW where you can then precisely center the Kick with your DAW if that’s your goal.
