After posting a topic about moving files and considering options given on this forum, I purchased a 4T SSD and have loaded all my SD3, EZ Keys and EZ Bass folders to it. I also have an external drive with all SDX programs that were extremely large as my laptop was quickly running out of storage. I assume you can just as easily drag and drop these files onto the new hard drive. My question is do you drop them onto the new drive or place them into the Superior Drummer 3 folder? Again, thanks for any advice, joe

Just drop them on the new drive and don’t forget to tell SD3 where the files are.

Thanked by: Scott EshlemanThanks drumjack.,
So I moved all folders for SD3,EZ Keys and EZBass from my laptop to an external 4T SSD.
I then downloaded the programs of those 3 products to my Mac Studio. All instruments and midi are present from those downloads.
I then plugged the SSD into that computer to try and open those files in the programs and can not find a way to set a path to the SSD.
There is no clear icon in any of those programs to let me access and choose any paths. When navigating Settings/Library tab it brings me to a Sound/Midi Library tab it asks to “quit …move the folder in Finder, then use Locate Folder. I see the Locate Folder tab but it is greyed out. Where exactly do I move the folder to in finder to possibly make this work?
I some how managed to get the SDX kits in SD3 showing up but no SD3 midi. Not sure how I did that.
The process of getting the files to the SSD were pretty simple. What am I missing getting the pathways set. I know from everything I watched and read it should be easy. Thanks for any help
There is no ‘Sound/MIDI Library’ tab in the settings page. If I understand you right you had everything working okay before. All you had to do is to drag the content (not the SD3 program itself as that stays on your system drive) to the new drive. Wanted to include a screenshot of my setting page but for the life of me there’s no easy way to do so.

In EZKEYS and EZ Bass …Settings/Librarys Paths/ Sound and MIDI/Libraries. In SD3 Setting/Library Paths/ ….at the bottom Additional libraries. In each there is a greyed out select pathway tab. On the laptop it was very straightforward and the instruments would just show up from the SSDs in the folder.
In SD3 it found the all the SDXs but none of the midi from each collection.
I did dowload and install all the SDXs, EZX and EBXs from the laptop over the years and transferred them to the 4T SSD from that laptop. I also tranfered SDXs fdirectly from 2 other SSDs. But from what I’ve seen it should be easy.
On your original system look for a folder called EZDrummer, it will have a folder in it called Midi and another called Database. That’s where you’re Midi is probably hiding, whether you have EZDrummer or not.

I just did this after purchasing SD3 and a new SDX. My laptop SSD was going to be at capacity, so I purchased a USB-C 4TB SSD and moved my existing libraries and then installed my new ones. I used Product Manager to set the library path for my existing products AFTER I copied them over. You have to select product details and then the installation into tab. I then deleted the copies on my existing drive and it all works. I didn’t have to go into any settings pages etc. Not sure about any MIDI since I would have that in my DAW projects.

On your original system there should be a folder called: Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support> EZDrummer
That’s where the Toontrack MIDI is usually stored.
