Can you show us a screenshot of the EZD Grooves tab?

    Hi all

I’ve just purchased EZ3 along with 5 expansions and 6 Midi packs and have everything installed and authorised.

However, various files in the Midi directory say zero bytes

For example, in say The Blues directory, a few say zero bytes such as 400@STRAIGHT

Is this anything to be worried about please?

It says everything is installed and ready to use.

    Many thanks

    Thanks

    EZdrummer version: 3.1.2
    Operating system: macOS Tahoe (26)

This is a guess as my system has the same structure and everything is working fine.

The zero byte header files seem to indicate the following midi files that are related via the BPM for example:

112-S0700@_MI_SHUFFLE_112_BPM contains a zero length header file

This is followed by a number folders that start with 112- that all contain .mid (MIDI) files

My guess is when the MIDI database (in the folder Database under the main EZDrummer folder), is built inside EZD3, it uses these header files to put the associated MIDI files in the right “bucket”

Are you able to see the grooves under the Grooves Tab in EZD3?

Brad is correct. Those empty folders are part of the headers and are used in the database structure.

    Thanks everyone

What confused me is, unlike the example by Brad

112-S0700@_MI_SHUFFLE_112_BPM contains a zero length header file

This is followed by a number folders that start with 112- that all contain .mid (MIDI) files

If you look at my screen shot,  they aren’t followed by numbered folders, 400@STRAIGHT has the header file in and nothing else, there’s no other folders starting with 400, same for the others on there.

I’m not at my Mac at the moment so can’t check the grooves,  I’ll report back tomorrow

    Hi there,

It would help if you posted a screen print from your groove library as displayed in EZD3. My explanation was a swag (simple wild ass guess). However my narrative was wrong. It was a guess as to the naming convention used by the compiler that creates the MIDI library.

The specific file that you’re looking  at 400@_STRAIGHT relates to the 401@_SONGS folder, containing the actual MIDI files, if you expand that folder, you’ll see them and if you open EZD3 and look in the groove library, you’ll see how they relate back.

    Hi

Here’s a shot of the grooves tab with straight selected.

I’m pretty sure everything is working as intended, it would be nice to know how the files/folders on disk real to the grooves

How do you know the 400@_STRAIGHT relates to the 401@_SONGS folder?  I know I should forget about all this and instead enjoy playing with my new software, it’a just I like to understand these sorts of things.

I’ve just done a file count in the 1903@EZX_THE_BLUES and it comes up with 93 Folders and 380 Files. The website says The Blues has approximately 368 individually played files so I suspect I’m good to go,

Yes you’re good to go…. how did I know about the 400@_Straight folders relation to the 401_SONG folder? I looked and made an assumption.
