From my understanding, you can’t.  The two applications are not cross compatible with projects but SD3 is compatible with EZX libraries only.   Another user was able to figure out how to use ezd3 presets into SD3 and you can find that here.

The best thing you can do is export the MIDI out of your EZD3 project, import it into SD3, then call up that EZX library and preset.

Hi, the info in that thread is a bit misleading (though I am sure the user in question had no such intention).

First; what he means is Project Files (.ezd3p and .sd3p) not User Presets.
Second; even though you can open a Project you renamed from *.ezd3p to *.sd3p in SD3, it will not open correctly.

You can open EZD3 Drums and Mixer User Presets in SD3, like in the attached screen shot. Exporting MIDI from EZD3 and Importing it into SD3 next would be my suggestion.Screenshot-2025-12-15-at-11.10.42

    Thanks for the replies.

Yes, John you are spot on I was trying to open the .ezd3p in SD3.

Fortunately the EZD3 files only has patterns.

Was going to do the rest of the editing in SD3 & Cubase 15 using different SDX kits so maybe I can export the EZD MIDI and import to SD3.

Not sure why SD3 doesn’t just have a selection to open a project from *.ezd3p to *.sd3p or import the MIDI from EZD??

Thanks again for all the assistance.

    Mahalo and kindest regards,

    -bK
